Steve served as an officer in the Royal Navy before qualifying as a Solicitor. He had experience of law in Local Government before moving into private practice as a litigator. From general litigation he developed a Medical Negligence and High Court practice as well as being Staff and Development Partner, building a sole practice into a successful two office firm.
During this time Steve was involved in church leadership becoming a Reader in the Church of England and then on the Midlands Leadership Team of Teamwork, a national grouping of House Churches. He dissolved his firm intending to move further into church leadership.
In this period of transition, whilst setting up a medical negligence department for a sole practitioner, Steve had a breakdown due to workaholism. There then ensued a long period of recovery and redirection involving extensive counselling and rebuilding which has given him a unique experience of a shattered life and the arduous journey into building a new and better life.
During this journey he helped establish a counselling charity becoming a counsellor and trainer of counsellors. He successfully completed Advanced Training as a Spiritual Director in the Ignatian tradition and ran Retreats within the Manresa Link. He also worked for a substantial legal practice developing their library and an effective limitation period archival system.
Throughout the years he has been involved in coaching, mentoring, discipling, leadership and facilitative organising. He has now formalised that experience by gaining a Diploma in Life, Business and Executive Coaching involving 402 hours of theory and training and now runs a Coaching practice.
